Date & Time: Thursday 21 September, 2023 | 7.45 AM – 4:45 PM
Course Overview:
In this course, targeted at novices of intra oral scanning for partially and completely edentulous patients, a clinical and technical approach will be presented. Participants will undertake clinical training on live patients and simulated cases. How to use the hardware and software of the scanner will be covered as well as a variety of clinical techniques aimed at delivering optimal clinical outcomes.
Participants will scan patients under the close supervision of the demonstrator with feedback being provided. After the clinical activities participants will be trained in utilising these scans to design a variety of devices and prosthesis in order to facilitate various clinical situations. Presenters
Friday Advanced surgical guide design and applications.
Tooth born surgical guides are an effective approach to a reliable and predictable protocol to place dental implants. When no teeth are present in an arch this can be a more challenging clinical scenario. The dual scan protocol allows the manufacture of surgical guides for tissue born surgical guides in a number of clinical scenarios. The process with tips and tricks will be covered. Surgical guides can be utilised for so much more than implant placement. Novel and unconventional clinical applications will be shown as we as the integration of internal irrigation to effectively cool osteotomy sites will be discussed and techniques to incorporate this will be shown
Saturday Integrating intra oral scanning and subtractive manufacturing – who needs a stone model anyway?!
Intra oral scanning for removable prosthodontics has now moved from an emerging clinical technique to one that is becoming accepted and established as an effective treatment modality. How do I put this together with a workflow that allows me to provide high quality outcomes for my patients? Does this deliver good clinical outcomes? How to scan accurately and consistently?
