Thursday All Day Seminar Session:

“New trends and materials in aesthetic implantology”

During his lecture Luc will consider the following issues:

  1. Digital versus analogue: new principles and concepts
  2. Zirconium dioxide: science and basic rules
  3. Screw retained versus cemented restorations: choices and guide lines
  4. Compensating vertical bone loss: material choice and technique
  5. Road map for edentulous patients: a step by step approach
  6. Angulated screw channel (ASC): new concept and benefits
  7. The digital workflow in aesthetic implantology
  8. In house milling or centralized milling?: different options, different results
  9. Special cases – special design
  10. Individual porcelain build up or monolithic solutions: a new way of achieving aesthetic restorations?

Friday Speaker Sessions:

Luc will be presenting an overview of new trends and materials in aesthetic implantology as listed below but with a focus on emergence profile – manipulating the gingiva to achieve a harmonious relationship between soft tissue and crown:

  1. Digital versus analogue: new principles and concepts
  2. Zirconium dioxide: science and basic rules
  3. Screw retained versus cemented restorations: choices and guide lines
  4. Compensating vertical bone loss: material choice and technique
  5. Road map for edentulous patients: a step by step approach
  6. Angulated screw channel (ASC): new concept and benefits
  7. The digital workflow in aesthetic implantology
  8. In house milling or centralized milling?: different options, different results
  9. Special cases – special design
  10. Individual porcelain build up or monolithic solutions: a new way of achieving aesthetic restorations?

The programme will include films showing the application of ceramics, painting of full contour zirconia, occlusion, articulation and many other aspects of crown and bridge. Luc’s explanation of layering is from a very neutral base so that regardless of the porcelain participants use they will be able to apply this information to their own ceramic build ups.

Thursday All Day Seminar Session:

Aesthetics and occlusion in removable prostheses

Julian will explain the concept of physiologically based occlusion, a theory researched and examined by Dr Eugen End of Germany. Dr End studied and copied nature and took it as the foundation for the anatomy and physiology of natural human dentition which he then applied to complete denture prosthetics – natural appearance/aesthetics of teeth and prosthetics. Julian’s course will provide valuable tips to the clinical dental technician not only for the design of the occlusal surface, but also for the teeth in their entirety resulting in aesthetically pleasing and functional dentures.

Friday Speaker Sessions:

Treatment options for the edentulous patient

This course will go through several theories of occlusion and focus on the Physiological Occlusion Concept.  Theoretical and practical guidelines will be presented to the participants so they can apply these concepts in their daily practices.

With the high success rate of dental implants, guidelines for removable and fixed implant supported restorations will be discussed.

CAD/CAM technology will be presented for the framework design of hybrid prosthesis

This course is recommended for prosthesists, dental technicians and dentists interested in the rehabilitation of edentulous patients with new solutions.

Saturday Speaker Session:

Occlusion: Practical guidelines and useful tools.

The subject of occlusion can be both confusing and frustrating. There are important things to consider and some that are not so important. What we all need is a simple framework to operate by, and useful tools to achieve our goals. This presentation will focus on both of these areas, and will emphasise the importance of an understanding of articulators, (both theoretical and practical), and the value of using them properly in practice.

Andrew will also be performing demonstrations in the trades area during the break.

Social Events

On Thursday 13th October at 6.00pm the guest speakers, trades people, executive and any conference, seminar attendees that are present, will be treated to a formal and traditional powhiri (a formal Maori welcoming ceremony involving speeches, dancing singing and finally a hongi) welcome to the conference.

This will be performed by Wellington East Girls College and Rongatai Boys, and facilitated by Matiu Julian.

This event is something that many of us have not had the opportunity to be part of and will be an amazing experience for all. We invite you to come along and be part of this fantastic traditional event.

This will be followed by drinks and nibbles in the Trades area.

The conference Gala Dinner will be held at Te Papa on Friday 14th October starting with pre-dinner drinks at 6.15pm.

Following the dinner, be prepared to be wowed by the iconic BeatGirls.  They will take you on a musical journey spanning over 5 decades from the 1960’s to now.

Their chameleon like ability to change music and costumes guarantee they are a sure fire hit at any function – from the Supremes, Saturday Night Fever and Tina Turner to Amy Winehouse, Bruno Mars and Meghan Trainor this group has something for everyone!

The BeatGirls bring a wealth of experience to the stage – applauded by young and old both locally and internationally, captivating audiences with great costumes, sassy choreography, humour, and a fabulous repertoire guaranteed to pack the dance floor and thoroughly entertain.
